Hey everyone. My birthday was alright after all. I got a cake and all and ended up getting quite a bit of moolah from my relatives (my mum insisted that I tithe -_-) so it wasn't that bad. Plus adidi gave me some cool transformers pencil case today and xy gave me some bazooka pressure gun that shoots foam bullets. I'm glad I didn't open it at seoul garden coz this thing really belongs in childhood memories. Mmm had a bit of fun terrorizing the dogs. I didn't actually shoot them but I was aiming the gun and shooting all over the place and omg pete is like my size but hes some canine pansy. It's like the moment I stepped toward him he'd crawl under the table to the other side of the room. Then repeat about 10 times. Love that dog hes such a gentle giant. It was just yesterday that my cousin came over with her kids and her 7 year old was hugging pete around the neck and he tenderly moved his head in response. And she was only slightly taller than him. I think its only around my dad that he becomes a little crazy.

This reminds me of a First Person Shooter. Unfortunately this gun has only 2 ammo. 

Pfft my mum refused to humour me though. While I admonished her to acknowledge me as her ruler she laughed at me and said the gun could not hurt her. Even a warning shot near to her toe would not sway teh fool. She then told me to put the gun away because it was blocking the subtitles on the TV -_-. Zz I then told her she was jaded and old. 

Anyway A13A had a final class lunch for 2007 at Seoul Garden today. I personally am not crazy about SG because the smell of the burning meat really gets into your clothes, but it was quite enjoyable. Was sitting with xy and rayner. Later on we had santa gift exchange and after that a group of us went to talk cok at this italian place in taka. Very posh but it was the only empty place. I rather enjoy conversations in small groups. You can talk about more private stuff and delve much deeper into things.  

Yeah basically I spent my New Year's Eve scanning slides for my dad. He has this lecture coming up and my mum wanted him to make the transition from old school slide shows to powerpoint. So we have to scan like 400 dental slides - some of them mouldy. My mum cleans and places the slides, I scan, crop, edit and save them. Saikang like some man and quite sian. I've been raiding digg for interesting stuff to occupy my time. Some of the slides really aren't that savoury either. Please don't go on if you can't stomach the sight of blood.  

Mmm just a taster. Expertly blurred to calm the squeamish. 

Anyway after that I tuned into the first episode of Coffee Prince. I was a big fan of Princess  Hours so since Yoon Eun Hye was acting in this I decided to check it out. It's quite funny but the translation on Channel U is terrible. Some of the conversations are just not coherent. But anyway one of the main characters has the most manly voice I have ever heard. It's damn sexy and wth I'm a guy making this observation. I swear it's off-the-scale unearthly manly. Like probably moses had this kinda voice. 

Yep I'm going out with lip tmr for lunch so maybe we'll have PHOTO UPDATE. Like Lip b4 and after. I'll end off with this really nice song Adia by Sarah Mclachlan

Hey I haven't been blogging much, but you might as well get used to it because I'm going in soon. I do have genuine worries about my eczema in NS because itchy urticaria (rashes/hives) is bloody difficult to deal with and once it starts more sweat and dirt is just going to make it worse. The only way I can deal with it is washing with soap, and opportunities to do that come few and far between. Bah and the army hasn't gotten back to me about my pending status yet. Why the sudden worry? I was jogging today and I came home and had an outbreak on the underside of my knee. That along with the underside of the elbows and the neck are FUCKED UP areas for people with eczema. I can literally scratch them raw and then some.

Anyway my aunts and uncle and their family went back to malaysia today. I like to spend time with familiar people, but I also like to be alone. I'm kinda introverted. My whole family is introverted and we don't like to mix with crowds or strangers. My mum can do the latter but its a forced kinda thing. My dad fakes being extroverted. He can talk a lot at things like dinners but in reality he prefers to keep a low profile. He doesn't like to go out with people. He hates phones. Like wtf he makes me answer his handphone for him -_-. As for me I can't break the ice for nuts but I enjoy the company of good friends.

Bah for some reason I feel quite angsty at the moment. It's just the beginning of my adulthood but I know the rest of life is gonna be hard, probably harder than these 18 years. There's so much more shit to go through and that somehow gets me down. I think this angstiness also stems from the fact that I really haven't bothered with my birthday this year. I just wasn't excited about it. I didn't know what present I wanted, I don't know where I want to eat. And to be honest I don't really care. It's this loss of enthusiasm that disturbs me -.-.

Anyway as usual I've watched some movies. I watched National Treasure 2 with wally. It's pretty cool. I like adventure flicks like Indiana Jones and NT. But the pick of the bunch would have to be Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Talk to Me. 

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is the first part of Park Chan Wook's revenge trilogy consisting of SFMV, Old Boy and SFLV. I really enjoyed this one. The plot is brilliant and well tied up which is so crucial because of the 2 different storylines running through as the 2 anti-heroes seek their vengeance. The acting is superb too. I've watched Old Boy too and if you asked me which one I preferred, I actually would still say Old Boy. It's one bloody wild ride that meshes surreality with reality really well. The violence is over-the-top but the intensity of emotion - the shock, desperation, anger and need for vengeance is absolutely off the meter (SFMV is more controlled). I won't watch it again but I need not watch it again because it left such a deep imprint in my mind. I've been trying to find Sympathy for Lady Vengeance but its so difficult to get. Anyone who's seen it please tell me.     


And the next one just watched today is Talk to Me about this famous black DJ played by Don Cheadle. Definitely one of the best indies this year. Chiwetel Ejiofor really impressed me.  

I'll just end off with the Backstreet Boys' new single Helpless When She Smiles. I think this is their best single since they went to the pop-rock genre. 

Going back in in a bit. This feeling sucks its like getting enlisted all over again but this time you know exactly whats waiting for you. Next day to keep in mind is the 29th.

Hey everyone sorry I haven't been blogging. My cousins/aunts/uncle are down from malaysia so I've been kinda distracted by it all. Smood's christmas party the day before yesterday was a real fun blast. The food was great too. For all those who took spaghetti and suddenly realised that there were no more meatballs left, I'm sorry. I only took meatballs..about 15 of em. And the chicken...Mmmm. And the desert was so good. I wish I ate more of the apple pie but my stomach just wouldn't hold up. I think it was also partially due to the fact that I felt a little stoned from the mild champagne (which makes me w3ak). My alcohol tolerance is rather mediocre actually, and when I feel hot from the inside I feel a little uncomfortable because my skin is sensitive to it and gets a little itchy. So I think I was staring into blank space for about 15 minutes during dinner? Haha.

Yeah the games were really fun too. We played twister and I got pawned at the end. Not as bad as rayner though. I think he was staring martin in the ass for about 20 minutes. We also played that game where you are something (which is pasted on your back) and you have to ask people questions about who/what you are. I was tiramisu (food) , PAMELA ANDERSON WTF (celebrity), and a centaur (mythical creature). I got pawned at the second one because I was asking people questions like did she win an oscar and did she act in high school musical. Yeah we also had this raffia string obstacle course up smoods sick winding stairs and rayner literally walked over everything till the end when the string was too high and someones jewels got caught on the line of fire. No abrasions I hope hahaha.

Yeah it was a nice night. Smood gave me this really good suicide bunny book. I had seen it on the web before and I really liked it so this book was great.




Yeah here is one of them which I thought was creative.

And anyway my family went to eat the line yesterday and my uncle pushed me past my breaking point by challenging me to finish my cup of bitter coffee like a man (I was staying up for the milan derby which INTER WON 2-1). After that was downhill all the way. I nearly puked. Keep in mind I had eaten a lot of shit before that. A LOT. Yeah even today I'm still reeling from the meal. My stomach is kinda queasy.

Yeah you must be thinking peck why are you eating so much. Well lately to make up for big evening meals I haven't been eating much at breakfast and lunch. Soup or fruits at most. And I've been working out so it hasn't been that bad.

AH these few days in camp been pretty slackey cuz for some reason the commanders are booking out very often. So we'd only have 4 commanders for the whole company bumming around doing nothing much. Been sitting in lecture halls listening to GNEERLA MILITARI KNOWLEGD lectures for hours on end. But did gay run in 3pm sun which blew my head off. Couldnt walk after that.

Just some updates from my chat last night with je who's in DRAGON company. I told je im in ZULU and he told me that ZULU is ULUZ backwards :'(. And he sed that cuz im in rocky mountain camp (not the main camp) i get uber owned cuz the commanding officer doesnt check/visit our camp so OUR officers dont adhere to rules and stuff. sigh.

LIFE SUCK

HELLO IM BACK FOR A DAY TIL 20TH DECEMBER 7.15PM WHICH IS MY BLUDY REPORTING TIME GRRRR.

K i just finished dinner booked out at about 6++ reached home at 7+ or so. Army's been preddy shitty these days but not unbearably so. Because i cannot remember whole days and what i did, heres a list of random shit that i've experienced.

1) Plz dont be blur (peck) especially when theyre doing anal stuff like checking equipment or signing INSIDE the DAM box (if your sig touches the box itself you get royally owned) or stomping properly or addressing your sergeant platoon sergeant or wdv shat. Lal. Just move fast as hell and youll be fine :D

2) EVERONE DAMN *(@U%()@*%()@* VULGAR. WE GRITTED THE SERGEANTS AND THEY SAY FK U CB. 3 common adjectives : LJ, CB, FKU etcetc LAL. but everyones freakingownage shittalker cuz all of them are hokkien/malay bengs and will just say F U in ur face LOL.

3) You start feeling damn stupid after awhile. As you can see i have lost the ability to form long sentences. I've not used my brain since i've enlisted, cept memorising shit like the core values and 5 marching commands and my your sergeants are. I t hin k i lost 50 IQ since i became a dum soldier. cry. Left right left. left right left. left right left. zzzz.

4) Too much food. Seriously. Ask for less cuz youll be fed again and again and again until you die. Pray for ice cream days. And western food. Rest = suck.

5) IF YOU'RE NOT NOT MOVING BY 1030 AT NIGHT WHEN LIGHTS OFF YOU ARE SCREWED. Oh and yo uwake at 5.30 for most days.

6) Training blows hard. I cant lift my arms now. Basically you have about.... 4 PT sessions a day, 5 if you have night trainings. Cuz you do warm ups and stuff which last about an hour and are enough to tire you out before the real pt.

7) I SPRAINED MY FINGER :( BUT I GOT TO SKIP A FEW ACTIVITIES :D Chay yeow is in my platoon :D

8) Shout like you've never shouted before :( Prepar eto be shouted at like like you've never been shouted at before :((((.

9) OXFORD > ME. GRAT TO ANYONE THAT GOT IN.

Hello. My life has been significantly more colourful in the past few days. On sunday I went out with zhenghong for dinner and to catch a free concert at the esplanade. EIC and timmy were doing acoustic sets. Yeah its nice to catch up with good friends, talk shit (oh yeah we talk A LOT of shit) and just relax. What can I say about the concerts? I enjoyed the timmy set more, amid the fact that EIC was supposed to be the main attraction. This most definitely stemmed from the fact that the timmy duo was doing some wonderful covers while EIC was hawking their latest album, and took a risk by doing an entire set of originals.

Yeah basically more than half of the EIC songs just weren't up to scratch. Some of the lyrics were childish, some of the tunes weren't polished or easy on the ears. I know a lot of people will say that the best songs don't necessarily sound radio-friendly and can still touch the heart but EIC has a reputation for being radio-friendly and so I held them up to those same standards. Unfortunately none of their songs touched my heart either. Timmy on the other hand did covers of some lovely songs. They did a worthy cover of Where Are You Going by the Dave Matthews Band and did an amazing rendition of Come Pick Me Up by Ryan Adams. I listened to the original and boy their acoustic version blows it away big time.

So yeah it was quite enjoyable. I got back in time for the second half between Man U and Liverpool. A tense but boring affair (football wise). Arsenal Chelsea was quite interesting but I thought it was a pity that it had to come down to Cech's error.

Anyway I went out again today with zhenghong shaggy and liben. We went to leisure mall in kallang and played arcade, ate dinner and bowled. Cost a bomb but it was fun. At the arcade we played the retarded spot-the-difference photo game and we finished the entire game with 50 cents. Well 4 pairs of eyes is kinda cheating but hey who cares. Bowling is always an experience that oscillates with your performance. When you do well you feel happy, otherwise you feel crappy. I got better towards the end so it was kinda fun. Poor liben though deteriorated through the games.

Well I have watched About Schmidt, Knocked Up and Superbad in the past few days. I didn't like About Schmidt. The plot pacing doesn't sustain the story well enough. Knocked Up was brilliant. I can't say this is a laugh-out-loud kind of comedy but the humour is bloody amusing and relentless. Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen act very well, plus the plot is unique and really absorbing too. It's vulgar and has some nudity but if Superbad was 10 on a vulgarity scale Knocked Up would be like 3? I didn't enjoy Superbad nearly as much as I did Knocked Up but I think it was due to Judd Apatow raunchy humour overload over 2 days. It was still very good but incredibly vulgar. There isn't a minute without the f-word but its hella funny.

Bah Im so hungry these days. Have been cutting down like crazy. I just want to go to NYDC, order a large plate baked rice and then have a slice of chocolate cake. DAMN.

Hey all. Lip went in yesterday so I guess I just lost my blog partner and trashtalk companion :(

Well first off I must thank him and tanneh for this kickass early christmas present. I thought it was awesomely cool and sinister. Makes me wanna go muahahahahah. I've never had good memories of doing lego when I was a child but I managed to make this while lip was watching bourne ultimatum at my house. THE LAUNCHER SHOOTS TOO AMG.

Yeah that day we also watched Taxi (Not the Queen Latifah movie, but the Luc Besson one). Very funny french flick.

Well yesterday I attended some scolarship tea thing at the police HQ. I really did not want to go but I stupidly signed up earlier so my mum forced me to. She wuz like "How dids I bring up my son to be like dis, shirking his respansibility". ZZZ. So I went amid the fact that I'm not applying to PSC, which rendered this talk useless to me. Hmm I guess it wasn't totally boring. They had a taser demonstration which was dangerously cool. Pok and spf mascot/stalwart AL were also there, so I could trash talk with them. But to tell the truth I was in a disinterested mood for much of the session.

And at night we decided to go to marche in vivocity to eat. Vivocity is overcrowded during the weekends, even moreso during this christmas season. Marche was equally cramped. It's a little disappointing, but not surprising that they compromised comfort and space in order to place more seats. There was hardly any space for my grandmas wheelchair to maneuver and the claustrophobic atmosphere paled in comparison to their previous setup at the heeren. The food was great as always though. I still maintain that they serve the best calamari and rosti around. But dammit 8 bucks for a bunch of shredded potatoes.

And today will be quite exciting I guess. Going out to watch one of those free concerts at the esplanade with ZH. I think its EIC today, so definitely very radio-friendly. After that I'm gonna catch a triple bill of soccer. 10-12 liverpool-man u. 12-2 arsenal chelsea and 3.30 to 5.30 inter vs cagliari LIVE on CHANNEL 5. YAYAYAYAYYAYAYYYYYYYY ITALITAN SOCCERRRR ON TV! NO MORE 3 INCH by 3 INCH SQUARE ON COMPUTER.

Hi I'm staying up for the liverpool-marseille match and the time now is 2 am. I got one of those feelings that liverpool are gonna be dumped out and I would like to witness it. 

And anyway I've been trying to train up my fitness again for NS and I totally acknowledge the need to but my parents have been seriously annoying me with their nagging. It's not so much their demands as it is their ignorance and totally patronizing tone when they talk about it. It's like my dad will tell me to run twice a day, and when I say I only ran once he'll give me one of those holier-than-thou lectures about how I'm gonna suffer. Alright. I know they do that in the army but at the moment I am not fucking wolverine ok dipshit? My legs don't turn from solid to liquid in the morning and then promptly coagulate in time for an evening run. Give me some time to build up my fitness dammit.   

Anyway I think I may try having 2 runs a day in a few days time. At the moment I'm doing 4 km in the gym in teh mornings and I don't feel that bad in the evenings. It's just that the next day will be hellish. Bah and I've had to seriously cut down on my food intake too. It's not so bad but still everything on TV looks tempting. 

Yeah and I've been a total movie junkie. Last night I watched Sideways. Very funny but it also had its touching/sad moments. However I'm not convinced Thomas Haden Church (aka Sandman in SM3) deserved his Best Supporting Actor Oscar for it, though he was very good. Paul Giamatti was magnificently depressing. 

And tonight I watched American Gangster. I must say that the movie experience was greatly hampered by my lack of a keen ear for the dialogue. I couldn't discern a lot of what was being said. I think it partly due to the 70s style of speech and also the fact that this show is meant to be watched in the cinema. Strangely enough I ended up still liking Denzel Washington's character more. He's so badass. And I think its because Russell Crowe has a bit of a douche bag face.

The Bourne Ultimatum is pretty much the BEST action show I have seen this year. It's concise and yet so densely packed with action. Left me breathless! What I love too is that it's smart, and it perfectly rounds off the most awesome action trilogy in recent memory.

Hi people sorry for the lack of posts but I've been playing lots of com. ET (Not my fault! COD4 doesn't work) and Crysis. Crysis is really fun but at the moment I'm stuck at this space station stage where there is zero gravity and its like an insane maze. I played it for an hour yesterday, got lost and then got nauseous. Yeah pwned by a computer game. Now I'm being a total pansy about it and refuse to go back until I have summoned the fortitude to try it out again.

And anyway yesterday I watched Letters from Iwo Jima directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Ken Watanabe. This film gained almost unanimous praise. 

Hmm sorry to say but I didn't think it was a like a OMGGREAT film. Maybe because I had obscenely high expectations of it and I thought this was Saving Private Ryan, Brotherhood and awesome Japanese kamikazes all rolled into one. I just felt this one lacked some nice, kickass military action and tactical fighting (like in the caves). It seemed more like a character driven piece. That part was great but usually my ideal war movie can straddle both well. 

And today I went to eat Japanese food. Mmm buffet. K I'll come up with sth more interesting later. Tonight gonna watch Bourne Ultimatum at teh club.

Hi people. Well what can I say about prom? I thought it wasn't very good, really. The emcee was mediocre. He was unprepared, unprofessional and wasn't very funny. The food wasn't great either. I think rayner put it succinctly when he said the audience was giving off who-gives-a-shit vibes. The after prom k-boxing was pretty fun though. I've never k-boxed in my life but I must say it's shamelessly entertaining. I was coerced into singing Don't Cha (-_-),  XY owned Brian Mcknight, Boppana sang I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing (brave) and Smood vociferously screamed Wannabe by teh Spice Girls. Anyway before I went to Malaysia I watched Little Miss Sunshine. Great comedy about this fragmented family united by a little girl, ultimately exonerated of their failures (well sorta). It is also quietly disturbing because it has so many touchy subject matters like suicide, drugs etc. While everyone has been raving about Abigail Breslin's performance, I thought Paul Dano was absolutely terrific as this silent, moody teen that hates the world around him. He's kinda f**ked up, and yet he has some really tender moments. Like when they were tempting Olive with ice-cream, I just thought that he acted really well there (for about 2 seconds). 

And btw GO AND WATCH HOT FUZZ. It is the best parody I have seen ever. And what really got to me is that unlike most parodies that turn out to be an absolute farce at the end, this movie still maintains a really good plot while still managing to undercut traditional detective crimefighting cliches.

Hi everyone I am alive and well and I am still in malaysia. The weather is so crazy mofo hot. How can singapore be so rainy and KL be so scorching. Global warming methinks. Anyway interesting highlights of my trip so far include my cousins and I getting our asses crushed at badminton by a 70 year old man and his terminator 12 year old daughter.
