Holy moly I just watched some videos of this boy singing group Libera recommended by my sister. It is IMBA! Unbroken pure angelic voices are just teh antidote for my troubled soul.

Sanctus by Libera (live version). Watch this one and look out for the soprano boy who sounds like he has a nightingale in his diaphragm.

Sanctus by Libera (high quality recording). This is fabulous. Sounds better than the live one.

Adoramus by Libera. This is a more contemporary recording that sounds like Enya but still BLOWS ME AWAY.

This is another really nice one called Love and Mercy. It's a cover of the Beach Boys

Well I'm back from New Zealand and it was a pretty cool experience. The NZ army food was pretty imba. Their budget is something like $15 a meal because it's a sign-on army and every 2 days you get to eat lamb or beef. Night snack is a bit like a buffet too. The weather was another story though. It's awesome in the day and pretty treacherous at night. Definitely one of the worse experiences I've had sleeping outfield. The wind was blowing so hard and the temperatures were sub-10. It's alright if you're a tourist and you're sleeping in a hotel room but when water is condensing in your socks and your feet are numbed out like popsicles even in your sleeping bag it feels... disgusting. Surprisingly though, after my feet the next most annoyingly cold parts of my body were my ears. Those thingys are like voluminous little pockets that catch cold air and funnel it to your brain. I did also get brain freeze from the weather alone. Gratz to me.

The actual terrain itself is pretty ok, though it's filled with potholes and stuff. I think I must have fallen down about 6 times during this trip but thankfully I came out unscathed. Probably the worse one was when half my body fell into a large hole in the ground (half my body is pretty damn big so you can imagine the dimensions). But it was none too serious and simply elicited a WTF response and a totally loser feeling. Oh ya there was another time where we had to guard some place in a field of cacti. What the heck was that all about.

Ah but anyway the urban part of Auckland is really laid back and sleepy. The pace of life is sloth-like compared to Singapore. At 730 at night most of the shops are already closed and the hippest areas are probably the casino and the stripclubs. But really I just don't see the appeal in stripclubs. It's kinda sleazy and turn-offing. The tour was pretty alright. Visited some waterfall called Huka falls which sounds damn wrong, and after that took some luge ride down a small mountain. That was really fun but I drove really slowly like a pansy.

Anyway that's all I can remember at the moment. I want to watch red cliff II but I hear that the ending is a piece of shit much like the first one. And I NEED to watch the wrestler and watchmen. Watchmen is coming out 6/3/09 in the US so it can't be long before it comes to Singapore. The graphic novel is probably the most intellectual comic I've read in my life and the ending was just excellent so I'm looking forward to the movie.

And check out this wrestling move. Totally ridiculous and hilarious

Ah off to Exercise in NZ for 2.5 weeks. I think it's gonna be a bit messed up but it's still nice to get away from unit life for a bit. Lip's going for the same exercise, but I don't know if I'm gonna see him. My sis came back for a week but work's been a beetch so I only went out with her on the weekends. And now she's leaving on the same day as me. bah.

Oh yeah I saw AL today. He crossed over from his camp (just next to mine) and it was nice to meet him and see his one bar for the first time. It was cool and all.
