You know. This is really tragic...but....i dono. Its must really suck to go that way. Extra condolences.
Well a few days back I actually watched Pan's Labyrinth on dvd and its a really cool movie. While I was expecting a bit more of the fantastical world, especially in the paleman scene (I think I hyped it up too much for myself), overall it was really good. I like how Del Toro manages to have 2 fully running storylines interwoven through the movie - one in fantasy (about pan's tasks) and one in reality (about the commander, the rebels and the girl + pregnant mum). The brutality of the commander was kinda gratuitous, though it was a fine performance. But zomg the paleman had so much potential and they gave him such a short scene argghh. He looks so unique and hes so scary.
Anyway this movie has made me an official fan of doug jones. Like Andy Serkis, he's one of those motion actors/costumed actors that have recently come to prominence. He's Pan the faun, paleman, Abe Sapien from Hellboy, and waddaya know the Silver Surfer. And he's so mature and funny in interviews! I cannot wait for the second hellboy because its basically Hellboy vs Army of Darkness and Guillermo Del Toro is a genius at this kinda mystical stuff. Creating creatures and thingies.
