PECKPOST

Hey everyone. Yeah my parents are back from shanghai and apparently they had a smashing time there. They went to old shanghai, shopped like mad and watched some craptastic zhang yimou musical. Well you know holidays are never bad but lately I've been trying to convince them to go to more awesome countries outside of asia. Like really just go to some exotic place like babylon (wait, does that still exist anymore), egypt or machu picchu or something. Like just someplace LESS CHEAPSKATE. They're kinda old school people that are into the whole I-am-frugal-hear-me-roar thing but sometimes it's just plain ok to splurge on a really great experience.

Yeah and anyway I got accepted to SMU and NTU business. Thank god for that but I'll try to get into NUS first before actually thinking about the choices before me. I'm really quite open to having an undergrad education in singapore before going overseas for my post-grad. It saves a lot of money for my parents - of which some could trickle down to me for other purposes e.g. investment. Anyway I talked to my sis about it last night. Well apart from the fact that 95% of the conversation was spent joking and laughing, she gave some rather reassuring advice. It's nice to know your sister in stanford doesn't tell you going local is for teh luzz or eagerly point out that I have like sasquatch boots to fill. She'll be coming back for 2 months in june for her PSC internship so it'll be nice to see her.

Well today was kinda boring. I went for this NTU high tea thing which was ok. I don't mean to sound cynical, but I haven't been particularly impressed by NTU in anything apart from their uni ranking and credentials. Imo NUS still has a better brand name and I have been more impressed by their presentations/interactions than the former. But still I'm undecided.

After that I went for a buffet dinner at the club. It's not a great buffet but we had to use up a voucher. I felt kind of bored so I did shameless things like kopping tons of MnM toppings to eat on their own, scrapping off the crispy top layer from the bread and butter pudding and trying yeow char kuay with butter. My grandma had a great time tonight. She was eating heartily and everything. I know sometimes I get so very impatient with her but I'm really happy when she's happy. There's nothing like seeing her eat a ton and then smiling and saying she's gonna explode in hokkien. Haha later on she was like how much was the meal and then I wrote $3 000 000 on the napkin and her eyes nearly popped.

Yep thats all then. Hope I get a stay out job.
